BACKGROUND
Born on the 8th of April, 1990, as a boy Jonghyun spent his time finding his niche. Ranging from activities like sports and music that his working class parents made him try out, the ones that he enjoyed most were guitar and singing.

In his teenage years, 16 year old Jonghyun made a decision to leave the family home in Seoul and try his hand at the music industry. Instead of trying the numerous agencies around the city, he found himself moving to Japan under the tutelage of a retired bassist he greatly admired. The venture didn't go as well as he would have expected, and soon Jonghyun had run out of funds and needed to work to make ends meet. He tried his hand at busking and retail jobs, but it didn't make enough for fees and the private Korean school he paid through the nose to attend.

Two years later, in an act of mad desperation Jonghyun accepted the offer of a friend to try his hand at working in a popular host club in Kabukicho under a pseudonym. It was an interesting and lucrative experience to say the least, and he was mostly popular thanks to his somewhat exotic status as a Korean as well as his endearingly bad Japanese. It helped pay the bills and he would study by day and work by night.

A year of this life left Jonghyun exhausted, and he conceded that it was time to go home. Nothing had changed much except for the fact that his elder sister graduated from university and his parents couldn't be happier to have their son back in one piece.

When he hit age 20 and without the needed funds to attend university yet, Jonghyun chose to live in Hongdae and gain a little experience in the indie music scene there. He picked up a job as a mail delivery boy to pay for his expenses, while searching for a band to call his own. He's been living with a room mate in Hanuel Towers for two years now, and at the age of 22 hopes to be talent spotted and earn his lucky break soon.

FACTS
Jonghyun picked up a lot of invaluable traits from his stint as a male host. For one, he developed an ability to sincerely listen to problems when needed without having to be a complete metrosexual. He is able to be cocky and come off as blunt, but that's just part of his appeal. Loved by clients for his charismatic playfulness, it is nevertheless an embarrassing part of his past that Jonghyun would hate for any of his friends to ever find out about.

Constantly on the lookout for a band to play with, Jonghyun has landed a few gigs before, filling in for bassists and vocalists that have called in sick. Nothing permanent has ever come out of it, but his determination keeps him from giving up after each setback.

Neighbours might notice Jonghyun's strange habit of forgetting to dress himself fully when making his way around the apartment building. His take on the matter is that as long as he's indoors, he doesn't have to put on a shirt or footwear, especially when all he wants to do is borrow sugar.

Jonghyun is extremely close to his sister and will light up whenever she's mentioned. They've always been had a tight relationship and he enjoys holding her hand and taking care of her despite being the younger sibling. With others, he can sometimes be abrasive when showing his concern, but never with his sister. With his parents, he is anxious to show off his independence, hence he rarely asks them for financial help.

As a delivery boy, Jonghyun gets to keep the motorbike provided by the small courier company he works for. He mostly delivers parcels and documents to nearby Yonsei and Hongik universities, as well as to private residences.

Jonghyun is a typical sufferer of the height complex. He knows he's short and can sometimes take a joke about it, but secretly he abhors it and hits the gym constantly to augment the problem with a ripped body.
